Title: The Christian Mama's Guide to Having a Baby: Everything You Need to Know to Survive (and Love) Your Pregnancy

Author: Erin MacPherson

Category: Non-fiction, Pregnancy and Childbirth

Rating: 5/5!

The Christian Mama's Guide to Having a Baby is part of the four book series Christian Mama's Guide. In this first book of the series, Erin MacPherson gives a comprehensive guide to pregnancy from a Christian wife and mother's perspective.

In The Christian Mama's Guide to Having a Baby, Erin MacPherson gives tips for each trimester including how to deal with pregnancy symptoms and cravings and what to expect for prenatal appointments. The book also has a guide for new dads to give them an idea of what to expect during their wife's pregnancy and how to be a good support.

This was the first book I read (I actually listened to it) on pregnancy. I started listening to it before I was pregnant and felt like it really helped me have a better idea of what to expect. Erin MacPherson gives such a humorous approach to pregnancy and really accomplishes her goal of proving that you can love being pregnant. I appreciated the very real perspective she gave with her personal stories. I believe that she would be the first to admit that she did not do everything perfectly, but I feel that is freeing to know that other moms make mistakes, eat too much ice cream, and take multiple pregnancy tests too. I definitely recommend this book to Christian moms, especially those of us who are doing this for the first time. I plan to read her other books in this series as well including The Christian Mama's Guide to Baby's First Year, The Christian Mama's Guide to Parenting a Toddler, and The Christian Mama's Guide to Grade School Years.
